A Shrine in a Hidden Place★Rokko Hime Daizen Jinja★

スポット紹介(Spot Introduction)

The God on “Your Name” is modeled.

I have recently become addicted to visiting shrines.

I was searching the Internet for some interesting shrines.

I heard that there is a shrine on Mt. Rokko where the god who was the model for the movie “Your Name” is enshrined.

After much research, I found out the following.

Apparently, the model for Miyamizu Mitsuha in “Your Name” is a goddess called Mitsuhamenokami, who is the same person as the mysterious Princess Seoritsu(Seoritsuhime).

Princess Seoritsu? It seems that people in spiritual circles are talking about this a lot these days….
Is this a story that raises a few eyebrows? I decided to do some research on the subject.

When searching the Internet for information about Seoritsuhime, most articles and videos treat her as a “mysterious god,” and it is difficult to know what she really is.
Although shrines all over Japan enshrine deities related to Seoritsuhime, or people who seem to be the same person as Seoritsuhime, she is still hidden (?) from the public. She seemed to be a mysterious princess (god).

And apparently, there is a grave of Princess Seoritsu on Mount Rokko in Hyogo Prefecture.
The name of the shrine is “Rokko Hime Shrine”. The name of the shrine is somewhat mysterious.

Knowing this, my interest was suddenly aroused.
As the saying goes, “Seeing is believing,” so I decided to pay a visit.

Rainy Day Worship

Unfortunately, it was raining in the vicinity of Mt,Rokko.

In the pouring rain, we walked through the hot spring resort of Arima Onsen and boarded the ropeway, holding umbrellas. There were almost no people on the ropeway, probably because of the rain. The ropeway was almost entirely chartered, and we continued to the top of the mountain.

After a while, the ropeway arrived at the summit station, where I gazed at the spectacular view of Mt. From there, we took a bus and got off at the Alpine Botanical Garden.

We got off the bus at the Alpine Botanical Garden and headed for the “Rokko Himei Shrine” using google maps as our guide.

As I was walking alone in the rain toward “Rokko Himei Shrine,” I saw a signboard that guided me to “Rokko Himei Shrine”…

Apparently, there is no other way to get to “Rokko Himei Shrine” but to walk through the mountains.
A mountain path in the rain…. We were a little perplexed, but we decided to go on, thinking it was fate that we had come this far.
I was afraid that if I tripped over a stone and fell, it would be the end of my life.

It is quite scary to be surrounded only by nature and the only person is myrself.

On the way down, we came across Shinkyo Iwa and Kumoga Iwa.
If it had been a clear day, I would have liked to take my time to visit those two places, but the rain was making my steps desperate, so I did not stay too long and headed for the shrine.

After passing Kumogaiwa, there are iron steps leading up to the shrine. It was a slippery staircase when wet, and as we slowly and carefully made our way down…

“Hello!”

I heard a woman’s voice.
It was a rainy day, but the couple who manages this shrine was there.

I was quite relieved at this point, as I had walked alone in the rain along the empty mountain path.
In the middle of the wilderness, it is quite reassuring to know that there are people around. I was also interested in the mystery of the rock.

Please take your time to visit the shrine.

and we were led through the rocks to the back, where we found a shrine sandwiched between a large rock and a rock….

Mystical experience at a shrine in the mountains?

Standing in front of the shrine, I felt as if I had arrived in a different space.

There were incense sticks and candles, which I was allowed to use freely, and I decided to offer one incense stick.

I put my hands together and prayed with my mind at ease.

After that, we had a short talk with the couple who manages the shrine, had a look around the shrine, and left the “Rokko Himei Shrine”. I went back the way I came, and when I came out of the mountain path onto the sidewalk, the rain had stopped, and I felt as if I had strolled into another dimension for a while.

If you are interested, lest’s visit there.
